VIGNERON AND WINEMAKER OF THE YEAR

In 1987 the Barons of the Barossa initiated a Vigneron of the Year Award to recognise the outstanding achievements and contributions of Barossa grapegrowers and viticulturalists.  In 1998, the Barons introduced a second award, the Winemaker of the Year.

The two awards are designed to encourage and reward the pursuit of excellence, which will enhance the Barossa's premium reputation internationally.

The announcement of the Vigneron and Wine Maker of the Year is made every year on the third Sunday in February at a unique and colourful ceremony to declare the Vintage.
